Paradise Too

About the Island

Little Gasparilla Island is a barrier island with seven miles of beautiful white sand beaches on the west coast of south Florida.  Located within Charlotte County, the Island is near the mainland community of Placida.  It is immediately north of Gasparilla Pass and is in close proximity to Boca Grande, considered to be the "tarpon fishing capital" of the world.  Plenty of flats and deep sea gulf fishing are at your door.  Dolphin sightings are common in the gulf and bay and Manatees (sea cows) are occasionally sighted in the bay.  You can observe the natural habitat in the bay with mangroves, starfish, conch shells, sea grass and horseshoe crabs; and in the gulf by collecting the prehistoric sharks teeth that wash ashore and finding sand-dollars on a shallow sandbar. A relaxing stroll on the beach will provide hundreds of shells for the collector.

Little Gasparilla Island has no paved roads, only sand paths with coconut palms, sea grapes and other tropical plant life.
